Hi Parents,
First off, celebrate with your kids tonight for their success on their unit math test! They should have it in their backpacks to share with you! They all did FANTASTIC! I was so proud of them!!!! Great job with multiplication, now we move on to FRACTIONS. I did not pass out the family letter at the end of the day today, so I will send that with the students tomorrow. The big idea that students need to get with fractions, is that fractions is part of ONE whole. The one can be anything, from a pizza to one whole group of 30.

Today in science we started talking about weathering. The breaking down of earth materials. The concept that I want the students to get from this unit is that the surface of the earth is always changing. Tomorrow they will watch a video about how catastrophic events change the surface of the earth and affect the living animals as it changes the earth's surface.
