Ferbruary 7th

I was absolutely horrible last week about keeping you posted I am sorry!

Tonight there are a number of papers coming home. There is a blue "Intent to Return Form" that I need back TOMORROW. You should also get a letter about Valentine's Day and everything that goes along with that, the family letter on our new unit in math, the newsletter from Hyalite and their homework. The spelling this week is going to be a bit different. Half of the class as the same spelling words as last week because of low test scores and the other half has a review of our word wall words. The word wall words are as follows:

This week here are our big focuses for learning:

Reading: Good readers know to monitor (who am I reading about, where is this taking place, what is the problem, etc) and clarify (I missed who the characters are...I should go back and clarify who).

Writing :Figurative and Creative Writing in poetry

Science: All minerals have PROPERTIES that help us identify what type of mineral we have.

Math: The big picture for this unit is algebra with a focus on multiplication and parenthesis.

*********Tomorrow is our snow shoe event with Mrs. Fisher for PE. WE have this from 8:45-9:30. Please make sure that your students dress for being outside!!!!
