Friday, September 24th

I do not think there is a day that is not busy and wonderful!

Things that happened today:

We are wrapping up the first unit in math. The students will be taking a math assessment on Tuesday. That means on Tuesday night they will not have math homework. Expect a review to come home on Monday night.

In third grade our school councilor, Steve Marty, does a 6 week bully proofing program to help our students learn to handle different situations with bullies. Normally, we have these sessions at the end of the day on Thursday, however, due to yesterday's drill, Mr. Marty came today to work with the kids.

Every Friday, I chose a student (randomly) to be the star student. The student will have a poster and on Friday will be able to share with our class a little more about themselves. This is an important way to build community in our classroom.

Today we celebrated Native American Heritage Day (as expected by the district).
