Wow! I cannot believe how beautiful it was today! And hot!
Things that happened in our class today:
In math we had a review day. I taught your students how to play a game called math basketball (ask them about it). Tonight there homework is a hodgepodge of review for the assessment tomorrow. Remember, there will be no homework tomorrow night because they are having an assessment.
Today we took the Easy CBM test for district in math. This test is done on the computer and will give us information on what our students need to learn before the state assessment.
The spelling words for this week more on the vowel-consonant-e pattern which helps the vowel say its name, the visual chunk ance, and high frequency words. We also started our word wall activities today. The words you will see on these different activities (done in class) are words that 3rd graders need to be able to spell by the end of the 3rd grade in their writing.

The students were assigned to their science groups today. They were given a frog and worked on what is living in the frog's habitat, and what is non-living in their habitat. We really stressed that non-living does not mean dead! It means it never lived (does not breathe, eat, need sun, etc).
