Monday, January 17th

Hi Parents,

I am sorry for not posting the last two days of last week.

We had a great day today. We started out by reading a few books about Martin Luther King Jr, and discussing the impact he made on the US.

In math today we worked on three different types of triangle. Equilateral triangles, isosceles triangles and right angle triangles. On the homework there is one other triangle that is introduced. This unit on Geometry is all about vocabulary! The students really seem to be enjoying it.

In Science, we worked as geologists to break apart our "mock" rocks and find the materials that are in it.

In reading today we worked on the genre of fantasy. We read together a story called Dogzilla, and in small groups all the students will be reading and evaluating fantasy pieces.

We had big news with our pen pals writing back from Colorado. So exciting! ;)

The spelling words for this week are all homophones.
