What a great day! A snapshot:
Math: Tonight the homework has to do with seeing patterns in math problems. The main idea is that if students can understand the basic math facts (such as 9 + 7=16), they can solve larger problems (such as 90+70 or 900+700).
Science: Today we finished the video about water ecosystems and spent time observing our frogs by drawing them. Tomorrow we will talk about how their body build helps them to survive in their habitat.
Writing/Reading: Today your students started working on a comic about a penguin. They were given 7 pictures of the same penguin expressing different activities and emotions. The students' job is to organize the pictures to tell a story. The major writing skill is organizing.
In reading this week our big focus is making connection to the text. Students can make connection to the text by :1 Connecting it to a personal experience 2: connecting it to another text 3: Connecting it to a world event.
Tonight you should have seen three things come home. !. math homework 2. spelling words 3. a flier about Walk to School day on Wednesday.
