Tuesday, October 18th

Hi Parents,

There is no homework tonight because we took a math test today.

Today we did a lot of different things.

We are working on different parts of speech. Today I introduced "Nancy Noun." We talked about how a noun is a person, place or thing. We also discussed that every sentence has to have at least one noun.

In science we discussed how every living thing needs for things to survive: water, food, shelter and space. In our next science session we will play a game called "Oh Deer" where you students will see first hand how an animal needs those things if it is to survive and reproduce.

Again, no spelling test this week.

Today, we also worked on the writing process by responding to a writing prompt that said "You get to have three people over for a sleepover. Describe your sleepover." The students and I worked through planning and writing a rough draft. Some students got to editing and revising, and we will get a final draft written tomorrow.

Have a great night!
